Cooperation with Huaming Russia and successful testing of PKR-2M

Through the negotiations and with interest in the long-term cooperation, SKB EP specialist visited Huaming Russia. This company is engaged in production, supply and installation of OLTC and OFTC devices.

During the first meeting, SKB EP technical specialist tested PKR-2M analyzer on OLTC-devices of the following types: CV, CM, SY (with oil arc extinction) and CZ (with vacuum arc extincion).

SKB EP has two modifications of specialized instruments designed for OLTCs diagnostics: PKR-2 and PKR-2M. Technical parameters of both analyzers meet all the requirements that apply to the devices of this purpose:

• Auto adjustment to any OLTC type;
• Radial diagram measurement of the resistor and reactor type OLTCs;
• Resistor type OLTC contactor switchover oscillography;
• Non-demountable check mode (DRM test) that enables to conduct the diagnostics of OLTCs with current-limiting resistors without removing the contactor tank cover (PKR-2M modification);
• There is an ability to adjust the time of switching process recording from 0 up to 20 minutes that is enough for a complete OLTC check;
• Both analyzers are equipped with high-precision angular movement transducer;
• Installation of the transducer, axes and bushings is easy, there is no need to use any additional tools;
• The touch screen simplifies and speeds up the user's interaction with the analyzer while working with oscillograms;
• Diagnostics results can be stored in the device's memory or transferred to a PC.

Diagnostics of the above-mentioned OLTCs manufactured by Huaming can be performed either using demountable check mode or using the DRM-test method (without tank cover opening). Non-demountable check mode consists of test current measurement through the winding in that the OLTC is connected. Based on the results obtained in the DRM mode, there are two graphs built: resistance versus time and conductivity versus time.

The testing was successful; we achieved all the goals, and that allowed us to expand the application area of PKR-2 and PKR-2M analyzers. Such testings that are carried out between manufacturers of high-voltage equipment and diagnostic devices gives us the opportunities to constantly improve our devices and present only the best to our clients. Currently, we are preparing measurement procedure documents for OLTC diagnostics manufactured by Huaming with the use of specialized PKR-2M device.
