    Krasnoyarsk enterprise of main power transmission lines

    In 2018 Krasnoyarsk enterprise of the main power networks got a high-voltage circuit breaker analyzer.PKV/M7.

    The instrument has been defined as reliable, accurate in readings and easy-to-use during operations. We would like to stress the optimization of measurements. With a help of PKV/M7 specialists can monitor a large number of technical characteristics of HV circuit breakers. It is possible to download data to a personal computer, that simplifies and reduces the time for equipment diagnostics.

    Due to usage of PKV/M7 we were able to identify and eliminate minor malfunctions independently and without the involvement of third-party organizations. That fact definitely had a positive effect on diagnostic cost saving.

    Responding to your letter № 27523 from 03/23/2021 with a request for feedback on the instrument, we can inform:

    1. Since 2008 our branch has been operating five high-voltage circuit breaker analyzers of PKV/M7 type and three micro-ohmmeters of MIKO-10 type.
    2. With a help of these instruments we check: HV circuit breakers of such types as VMG-133, VMG-145, Siemens LTB-145; VMP-10 etc. and the contact resistance of control modules.
      • PKV/M7 is convenient because it has position transducers which are suitable for drivers that are listed above. Also, it is easy to use PKV/M7, its display is clear and size is small. An additional advantage is that the memory of the instrument is programmed by drivers’ and HV circuit breakers’ parameters’ templates, which are in operation in our enterprise.
      • MIKO-10 is convenient due to its small size. It keeps the battery charge for a long time. It is used for measuring the contact resistance of disconnecting switches of the following types: RZD-N 0, RZD-35, RLND-35 and helps quickly control equipment defects. Moreover, it allows to analyze the increase of contact resistance.

    3. The instrument provides a complete picture of drive`s technical state and qualitatively measures parameters of its contact part.
    4. Monitoring instruments for high-voltage circuit breakers revealed a non-simultaneous commutation in three-pole circuit breakers of the VMG-10 type with a PP-67 drive, during the repair program in 2021. That is why the defect was promptly eliminated and we prevented a serious technical problem.

    Our company has been operating instruments PKV/M7, MIKO-1, MIKO-2.3 manufactured by SKB EP, LLC (Irkutsk, Russia) since 2006. These devices are used by substation maintenance department in order to diagnose vacuum and oil circuit breakers of 6-10-35-220-220 kV voltage, as well as disconnectors of 35-110-220 kV voltage. Among them there are circuit breakers of the following types: MKP-110, VMT-110, VEB-110, VGT-110, U-220, VMT-220, S-35M, VT(VTD)-35, VM(VMD)-35, VK(VKE)-10, VVE-M-10, etc. The advantages of PKV/M7 are ease of operation, the ability to determine defects without circuit breaker demounting, the ability to view the data obtained from measurements and graphs of dynamic characteristics, the availability of both local and remote type of triggering, the ability to work with the instrument on almost all types of switching equipment, the required number of controlled parameters and their accuracy, compact dimensions. The instrument has a protective case, which is important when transporting and working at a substation.

    MIKO-1, MIKO-2.3 are used to measure the DC electrical resistance of contact connections of switching devices with a voltage of 6-10-35-110-220 kV. The advantages of these instruments are its low weight and compact dimensions, a robust housing, a current sufficient to carry out the necessary measurements, autonomous power supply (MIKO–1), and, what is also important, the ease of use.

    We recommend these instruments for use to all organizations in the field of power engineering.

    Vorkutinskiye thermal power plants, LLC

    The electrical laboratory of Vorkutinskaya TPP-2 Vorkutinskiye TPP, LLC T Plus, PJSC has in its instrumental and technical base the following devices manufactured by SKB EP, LLC:

    • MIKO-1 micro-ohmmeter that is used since 2005;
    • MIKO-10 micro-ohmmeter that is used since 2017;
    • PKV/M5N high-voltage circuit breaker analyzer that is used since 2006 with an angular movement transducer DP21 and a linear movement transducer DP12;
    • PKV/M7 high-voltage circuit breaker analyzer with a PUV-regulator device that are used since 2018, with an angular movement transducer DP21 and a linear movement transducer DP12.

    With the help of micro-ohmmeters, electrical laboratory personnel measures DC resistance of contact connections, and PKV/M5N and PKV/M7 devices are actively used to measure the speed and time parameters of circuit breakers of 6, 35 and 110 kV voltage classes.

    Micro-ohmmeters are convenient to use due to their autonomy and mobility. PKV/M5N device, despite its long service life, is relevant during the diagnostic of high-voltage circuit breakers (due to the presence of linear and angular movement transducers in the complete set), but, due to moral aging and replacement with new analogues, the device cannot be supplemented with new components. The new PKV/M7 device is supplemented with all the necessary spare parts, is modern, mobile, accurate and, based on this, is more in demand by electrical laboratory specialists.

    As a result of the operation of devices manufactured by SKB EP, LLC by the personnel of Vorkutinskaya TPP-2, we can say about the reliability and high-quality operation of the above-mentioned devices and express a desire to continue interaction with specialists of SKB EP, LLC on technical and commercial issues.
