DCRT-200: an innovative approach to circuit breaker diagnostics

Modern electric power industry imposes more and more stringent requirements to the reliability of equipment and speed of diagnostics. Under these circumstances, the ability to determine the condition of the circuit breaker arc extinguish contacts quickly, accurately and - what is most important - without disassembling the chamber becomes particularly important.

SKB EP presents the latest development - DCRT-200 dynamic contact resistance tester designed for diagnostics of SF6 circuit breaker arc extinguish contacts. This is a non-demountable measurement method, which allows to obtain objective information about the state of arc extinguish contacts of the circuit breaker, to evaluate their operation time difference and resistance dynamics at the moment of switching. Based on the measurement results, specialists can make a decision on the need for further repairs.


Key Features of DCRT-200:

  • remaining length of the arc-extinguishing contact refractory end;
  • surface condition (erosion) of the movable and fixed parts of the main contact;
  • non-demountable diagnostic method;
  • graphical presentation of diagnostic results;
  • built-in battery.
DCRT-200 tester is an additional accessory that extends the functionality of PKV/M7 device. Combined operation of DCRT-200 with the PKV device provides complete and detailed testing of circuit breakers, including measurement of dynamic contact resistance.

DCRT-200 is not just a new device, but a significant expansion of preventive diagnostics and maintenance tools. Its application will significantly increase the reliability of circuit breakers, reduce the cost of unscheduled repairs, and extend the circuit breaker's service life.
