SKB EP Instruments at Middle East Electricity 2018

SKB EP, LLC took part in the international exhibition Middle East Electricity 2018 in Dubai on March,6-8. The exhibition was held in Dubai World Trade Center and covered all the key aspects of the Energy industry.

MEE 2018 traditionally gathers key players of the global Energy market. Our company participated in the event for the first time. We were honored to represent testing instruments for HV circuit breakers and OLTS transformers manufactured in Russia for the wide audience.

The following instruments were represented:

Our visitors had a chance to observe live presentation of the instruments and have an idea of their technical capabilities. Our guests were happy to see that instruments produced by our company do not inferior to the analogues produced in other countries and some of our equipment go beyond.

Special interest was expressed to our micromilliohmmeter MIKO-2.3. This unique instrument works in 4 modes: mikroohmmeter, milliohmmeter, kiloohmmeter and thermometer. This mini laboratory enables to cover all the targets when measuring the electrical resistance of the DC nodes of switching devices. Having a very small weight this item may deliver current up to 1000A. High current allows to burn oxide films formed on the contacts which gives a significant error when measuring resistance.

Microohmmeter MIKO-21 also attracted a lot of attention thanks to its very low error range which is ±0,05%. The instrument has the following advantages:

  • 4 modes for measuring the transient resistance of high-voltage circuit breakers’ contacts including the built-in current transformers;
  • built-in base of passport values of circuit breakers contact resistance, which allows to automatically compare the measured values with the passport when specify the brand of the circuit breaker;
  • interactive control (via keyboard and color display touch screen) and modern functionality (PC control, USB/USB flash port), which makes it easy to transfer data from the device to the information base of the utility.

Participation in the Middle East Electricity 2018 helped us to acquire new knowledge from our colleagues in the Energy sector in Middle East market. We managed to establish new business contacts and announce our presence in the new market, increase the company image and represent our innovative solutions to the potential partners in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan and other countries.
