SKB EP practical training in Lenenergo, PJSC

SKB EP practical training was held from 15th to 16th of October in Lenenergo, PJSC Training Centre, St.Petersburg. Specialists of substation equipment repair service took part in the seminar. Engineers, foremen, electricians and technical specialists responsible for diagnostics and repair of high-voltage equipment visited the training. The participants represented different electric companies.

The first day was held in a lecture hall. SKB EP specialist made a report on the main features related to diagnostics of HV circuit breakers using PKV group instruments. Methods of resistance measurement by MIKO group instruments were also represented.

In the afternoon training participants discussed OLTC diagnostics. The main problem of OLTC diagnostics is that it is located inside the closed tank. That means that servicemen do not have an opportunity to make equipment visual control and they require special instruments for inplace diagnostics. In order to deal with this problem SKB EP offers a special instrument PKR-2M and new milliohmmeters MIKO-9 and MIKO-8M. These instruments were represented in details.

The second day was a practical training. The participants studied the features of HV circuit breakers oscillography using PKV group instruments.

While working with high-voltage circuit breaker SKB EP specialist demonstrated PKV/M7 and PKV/U3 operation process. Diagnostics was carried out in several simple cycles "Open", "Close" and in compound cycles "Open-Close", "Close-Open", "Close-Open-Close". Specialists can set different values of impulse durations to Open, Close and Pause cycles. Each participant had an opportunity to carry out measurements on his own, to obtain oscillogram and to decode the graphs.

Later the operating process of the portable microohmmeter MIKO-10 was demonstrated. The instrument is intended to make express resistance measurements in the range of 1 ÷ 100 000 µΩ, test current up to 10 A with accuracy ±0.2%.

The second part of the practical training was dedicated to work with power transformer using MIKO-9 and PKR-2M instruments.
Training participants studied technical specifications of PKR-2M for demountable and for in-place (DRM method) diagnostics of OLTC and radial diagram measurements. Also SKB EP specialist how to work with a new milliohmmeter MIKO-9 for resistance measurement with ability to make OLTC express diagnostics (DRM method), demagnetization and "heat test".

At the end of the training the participants had to pass certification test. The specialists did a good job with the test questions which confirmed their high level of professionalism. We would like to congratulate and thank all the participants for being part of the training.
