Showcasing Solutions for Potential African Partners

In August 2026, SKB EP held a series of talks in St. Petersburg with delegations from four African countries. The meetings confirmed a steady rise in interest in Russian measurement technologies across the African continent.

Visit of a South African Energy Holding

On August 13, SKB EP gave a presentation of the company's technologies and solutions for representatives of a major South African energy holding company. The meeting was organized by the St. Petersburg Export Support Center and the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg. The high status of the delegation, which included heads of several coal-fired power plants, underscored the seriousness of both parties' intentions. SKB EP was represented in the talks by a leading engineer and an export sales manager.

Guests were shown a selection of SKB EP's diagnostic equipment: the manipulating rod for working with high-voltage equipment at heights of up to 4.5 meters from the ground or from a tank cover, as well as micro-ohmmeters and winding resistance meters for measuring contact resistance.

Delegation representatives noted that they were already familiar with this type of product and highlighted its advanced technology. According to them, demand for such equipment remains strong in South Africa: three of the four power plants represented at the meeting have been in operation for a long time and require regular equipment monitoring. The guests also said they were pleasantly surprised by the level of Russian engineering, noting that SKB EP's products are a worthy match for well-known European manufacturers.

During the meeting, the guests asked about service conditions and calibration standards for the instruments. SKB EP specialists explained that calibration under the company's methodology can be performed by any certified laboratory, which simplifies equipment operation abroad.

Business Mission from East Africa and Egypt

From August 17 to 19, St. Petersburg hosted a business mission with delegations from Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Egypt. The event was again organized by the Export Support Center. In addition to technical topics, the talks focused on practical steps for entering new markets. Participants were also shown the MIKO-21 instrument — the foreign guests praised its light weight and compact design.

The parties discussed prospects for equipment supplies to the region, the search for local partners and distributors, as well as logistics and settlement arrangements for export deals. A separate topic was the upcoming Egypt Energy Show exhibition: one of the participants offered to display SKB EP products at its own stand — a sign of recognition of the company as a reliable player on the international market.

The business program also included a presentation on new international payment tools, helping participants better navigate cooperation with foreign counterparts.

Continuing Systematic Work

The busy schedule of August meetings is further proof that SKB EP's products are in demand well beyond Russia. Notably, this was not the only event of the month: earlier, SKB EP's office hosted a meeting with representatives of an international mining company operating in Guinea and Burkina Faso.
