Results of participation in the Energy and Electric Engineering Fair - 2017
On April 25-28, 2017 the Energy and Electric Engineering Fair - 2017 was held in St.-Petersburg that became one of the main fairs in Russia. For four days the exponents from Russia, FSU and foreign countries demonstrated their proved solutions and new products in the field of instrumentation, high-voltage equipment cables, eclectic devices, special clothing, etc.
SKB EP Company takes part in this Fair every year as it is a well-reputed manufacturer of analyzers for high-voltage equipment control and testing.
The SKB EP stand was visited by representatives from different companies, including well-known manufacturers of HV circuit breakers and transformers; construction and erection companies; engineering companies dealing with engineering, construction and commissioning of substations, as well as from different business units of electric network companie.
Every visitor could make familiar with the devices, get detailed individual advisory information on each device.
The stand presented the entire line of analyzers that had positively recommended themselves at the market of measurement instruments, namely, PKV family analyzers for HV circuit breaker testing; MIKO microohmmeters and milliohmmeters; and instruments of the PKR family for OLTC transformers testing.
Along with the known devices presented were the new developments: MIKO-9 milliohmmeter, and MIKO-10 and MIKO-21 microohmmeters.
An enhanced MIKO-9 is highly portable, functional and versatile. The instrument is designed for measuring the AC electric resistance in the inductance and inductance-free circuits in the range of 10 mkOhm ÷ 30 kOhm on currents of up to 10A.
Furthermore, MIKO-9 has a number of functions that differentiate it from its analogue:- Simultaneous connection to three transformer phases and measurement with automatic switch-over;
- Availability of a mode for resistance measurement across two windings simultaneously;
- Demagnetization mode of the transformer’s magnetic circuit;
- ‘Cooling test’ mode;
- DRM-test of OLTC devices;
- Some other functions.
Note: The analyzer is under tests and pilot operation for being entered into the RF State Registrar of Measurement Instruments. Its production is scheduled for the third quarter of 2017.
Modern MIKO-21 microohmmeter is a high-precision instrument (error does not exceed ±0.05%); range of measurements is from 0.1 mkOhm to 2 Ohm, and rated current is up to 200A. The instrument is also noted for such parameters as:
- Four modes for HV circuit breaker transient resistance measurements, including with account of in-built current transformers;
- Availability of an in-built base of passport values of resistances (Rtransient) of circuit breaker contacts ensures automatic comparison between measured and passport values subject to circuit breaker type indication.

Interactive control using a film keyboard, a sensor screen of a color display, and advanced functions (control from PC, USB/USB Flash port) facilitate data downloading from the instrument to the company's data base.
The MIKO-10 microohmmeter is noted for its operating features:
- A unique ergonomic case is comfortably placed on the wrist and fixed by tighten belts, thus leaving both hands free to facilitate the measurements (the instrument can be easily removed from the wrist and fastened to a belt or installed on any flat surface).
- Its low weight (0.5 kg), small size (150x110x55mm) and an in-built battery make it a mobile self-powered instrument.

The range of measurements using MIKO-10 is from 1 to 100 000 mkOhm, test current is 10A, and error does not exceed ±0.2%.
A neighbor of SKB EP Stand was OJSC KEMONT Company (a plant in Kazakh republic for electric equipment assembly) that was demonstrating knife switches BHA-KEM/kz-П-10-630-20-У2 of vertical-rotating type. It was interesting to measure transient resistances of those switches and to demonstrate our analyzers in operation. MIKO-1 and MIKO-10 microohmmeters were used for performing the tests.
